Stanza is a free and very well made application for iPhone, that allows to read ebooks and pdf files from the mobile device.
Once downloaded the program from iTunes and App Store, you must proceed with the insertion of ebook and pdf files. For this action there are two different items: Shared Books and Online Catalog. In this last section there are all the Free Books from Feedbooks, that can be consulted by language and popularity. You can also download an eBook directly entering the URL: just press the top right button, click on Download Book at URL and enter the link. The Shared Book function, instead, allows the sharing of your eBook from your Mac or PC to iPhone, via Wi-Fi.
To use Stanza you must first download and install the program on the PC or Mac and open an eBook in any format. At this point you'll have to convert the document .epub, it being the only format accepted by the application.
You can now share the eBook with your iPhone, via the System Preferences / Enable Sharing menu. Opening the application from the mobile device, you can enter into the Shared Book section and proceed with transferring the eBook.
eBooks can be read in a precise and clear way and the pages can be turned with the finger as if they were real pages of a book. To facilitate the reading of texts, by double-clicking on the screen you can change the font or color and dimension of them.
It’s also possible to search a specific word within the pages and use a scroll bar to browse the book.
